a landmark development for the Federal Fire Service (FFS), officers of the Service have unveiled the first-ever self-funded Quarter Guards at the National Headquarters and the Wuse Area Command in Abuja.

The historic initiative, funded entirely through the collective efforts of officers of the Service, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the Federal Fire Service and underscores the growing commitment of personnel to institutional excellence, discipline, and professionalism.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service described the initiative as a remarkable achievement and a testament to the unity, dedication, and esprit de corps that exist among officers and men of the Service.

According to him, the establishment of the Quarter Guards reflects the determination of personnel to strengthen the traditions, identity, and image of the Federal Fire Service while promoting a culture of service, responsibility, and pride.

The Controller-General commended the officers for their sacrifice and collective resolve in bringing the project to fruition without external funding, noting that the achievement demonstrates the high level of commitment within the Service to institutional development.

He further stated that the Quarter Guards would serve not only ceremonial and security functions but also stand as enduring symbols of discipline, professionalism, and the rich heritage of the Federal Fire Service.

The unveiling ceremony attracted senior officers and personnel of the Service, who described the project as a historic accomplishment capable of inspiring future generations of firefighters and strengthening the corporate identity of the organisation.
