The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, Mr. Awolu Salihu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nasarawa State Command, Brah Samson Umoru, at the Command Headquarters in Lafia.
The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the media and security agencies, while reinforcing the importance of effective communication and strategic collaboration in promoting peace, security, and sustainable development in Nasarawa State.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Awolu Salihu commended the Commandant and his management team for their dedication and commitment to the protection of lives, property, and critical national assets across the state. He stressed the need for stronger synergy between the media and security agencies, noting that accurate and timely dissemination of information remains essential in crime prevention, public enlightenment, and national security management.
He further assured the Command of the readiness of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service to collaborate with the Corps in public sensitisation campaigns, promotion of security awareness, and projection of the activities and achievements of the NSCDC to the wider public.
In his remarks, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and strategic in advancing inter agency cooperation and public engagement. He highlighted the critical role of the media in security operations, particularly in information management, public enlightenment, and the fight against misinformation.
The Commandant reaffirmed the commitment of the Command to maintaining law and order, protecting critical national infrastructure, and strengthening collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including media organisations, towards ensuring a safer and more secure Nasarawa State.
He also called for sustained partnership with the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service in amplifying security awareness and educating the public on safety and security related issues.
The visit concluded with both organisations reaffirming their commitment to stronger collaboration in the collective interest of peace, security, and development in Nasarawa State.
