FRSC Seeks Stronger Synergy with NSCDC in Delta to Enhance Road Safety

The Delta State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo, has received the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Delta State Command, Corps Commander Charles E. Edem, in his office at about 12:38hrs.

During the visit, Corps Commander Edem commended the warm reception extended to him and expressed appreciation to the Commandant and his management team.

He noted that both agencies share a long history of cooperation which has positively impacted road safety operations. He also emphasised the need for sustained public enlightenment on road usage, stressing that driving and proper road utilisation are distinct responsibilities that require continuous public education.

He further called for strengthened collaboration between both agencies through joint sensitisation programmes aimed at improving road safety awareness. He also proposed routine sporting activities as an avenue to deepen inter agency relations, assuring that the FRSC under his leadership would continue to cooperate closely with the NSCDC.

In his response, Commandant Chinedu F. Igbo described the Sector Commander as a long standing friend and welcomed the proposals for enhanced collaboration, including sporting engagements. He reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to continued partnership with the FRSC whenever the need arises.

The Commandant also underscored the importance of intelligence gathering to the operations of the NSCDC and called for improved intelligence sharing between both agencies, particularly in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
