The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has deployed 1,450 personnel across the state to guarantee a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free Sallah celebration.
The State Commandant, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, said officers have been strategically positioned at Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, critical national assets, and other public areas where large gatherings are expected during the festive period.
Commandant Ingawa explained that the deployment aims to strengthen security presence, prevent criminal activities, and protect lives and property throughout the Sallah celebrations. He highlighted that special operational units, including the Anti-Vandal Unit, Intelligence and Surveillance Team, Disaster Management Unit, and the Agro-Rangers Squad, have been placed on high alert to safeguard public facilities, farmlands, and critical national assets across the state.
He further directed Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Tactical Commanders to intensify patrols, surveillance, and intelligence gathering within their jurisdictions to prevent any potential security breach during the festive period.
Extending warm Sallah greetings to the people of Jigawa State, the Commandant urged residents to celebrate responsibly, obey the law, and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help maintain peace and public safety.
The Command reassured citizens of its steadfast commitment to working alongside other security agencies and community stakeholders to ensure a secure and peaceful environment before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.
