The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has reiterated the Corps’ commitment to supporting national security efforts during a meeting with members of the Executive Council of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Security Studies at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja.
The 11 member delegation, led by its President, Mike Ejiofor, paid a courtesy visit to congratulate the Commandant General on his recent reappointment. The group also used the opportunity to invite him to serve as the Special Guest at the association’s forthcoming annual lecture.
In his remarks, Professor Audi expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the association for organising an initiative that focuses on election related security. He described the theme of the planned lecture as timely and relevant to the country’s current security realities.
The NSCDC chief also assured the delegation that the Corps would continue to collaborate with relevant institutions and stakeholders to strengthen the protection of lives, property, and critical national assets across the country.
Speaking earlier, Ejiofor explained that the visit was aimed at reinforcing the existing relationship between the association and the Corps. He acknowledged the significant role played by the NSCDC in maintaining election security and supporting national stability.
