The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kwara State Command has successfully concluded activities marking the 2026 International Civil Defence Day with a colourful grand finale that featured tactical simulation exercises.
The event, themed “Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable Future,” showcased a range of tactical demonstrations, including unarmed combat drills, a silent parade, and the stripping and assembling of rifles. The exercises highlighted the discipline, precision, and professionalism of officers and men of the Command.
Addressing personnel at the ceremony, the State Commandant, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, urged officers to remain steadfast, disciplined, and resilient in the discharge of their responsibilities. He emphasized the need for dedication, teamwork, and commitment to service at all times.
He also stressed the importance of environmental responsibility and proactive community engagement, noting that civil defence operations must reflect current environmental realities.
The Commandant reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to aligning its operational strategies with the theme of the celebration by strengthening measures aimed at managing environmental risks and promoting a safer and more sustainable society.
