The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, alongside the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance and Accounts, DCG S.B. Daura, and the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Lola Adeyemi, FCA, accompanied the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to the 2026 Budget Defence Meeting held on February 17, 2026.
The session took place before the Senate and House Committees on Interior at the National Assembly. The meeting was chaired by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Interior, and co-chaired by Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Interior.
Agencies under the Ministry of Interior, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Correctional Service, and the Federal Fire Service, also participated in the budget defence exercise.
The engagement provided lawmakers with the opportunity to critically examine the Ministry’s 2026 budget proposals, ensuring alignment with national priorities and statutory responsibilities.
The Minister and heads of agencies reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery in the discharge of their mandates.
