By Isiaka Mustapha, Editor-in-Chief, People’s Security Monitor
The People’s Security Monitor (PSM) will, from next week, commence nominations for the best-performing chief security officers across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The exercise will cover state-level commanders and heads of specialised units across the military, police and paramilitary services, focusing on leadership, operational performance, professionalism, responsiveness and contributions to public safety.
The initiative is a “report back to the people”, giving citizens and stakeholders an opportunity to assess the performance of security commanders based on credible information, verifiable achievements, effective response to security challenges, community engagement and inter-agency cooperation. The PSM invites members of the public, community leaders, civil society organisations and security stakeholders to submit credible nominations and observations as the exercise begins next week.
The appraisal will progressively identify and highlight outstanding security commanders and specialised units across the six geopolitical zones, with the broader objective of promoting accountability, professionalism, excellence and improved security service delivery to Nigerians.
All nominations should be dispatched to our mail address: pressgallery2013@gmail.com or call us 08055001819
