Former President of the Senate and Chairman, Board of Governors of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Senator (Dr) Ken Nnamani, , has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its vital contributions to national stability and security.
During a recent visit, the elder statesman described the NSCDC as one of the most successful creations of the National Assembly, noting that the Corps has continued to justify the confidence reposed in it through effective service delivery. He urged officers and men of the Corps to remain committed to their mandate of protecting Nigerians and safeguarding critical national assets.
Senator Nnamani also showered encomiums on the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, whom he described as a leader driven by genuine passion for national service. He encouraged personnel of the Corps to emulate the Commandant General’s leadership style and sustain their dedication to the protection of lives, property, and critical national infrastructure.
Responding, the Commandant General expressed profound appreciation to Senator Nnamani for the visit and for his historic role in the passage of the NSCDC Establishment Act. He described the former Senate President as a principled and detribalised Nigerian whose contributions to nation-building remain invaluable.
Prof. Audi reaffirmed his commitment to institutional reform and capacity development, stating that the Corps is at a critical stage of its evolution. He emphasized that ongoing reforms are geared towards transforming the NSCDC into a world-class security agency capable of meeting contemporary security challenges.
