The Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has received the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, Commandant Chinedu Igbo, at the Government House, Asaba.
The courtesy visit, which took place on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, was described as timely, having been previously delayed due to the demanding schedules of both parties.
Governor Oborevwori, who warmly welcomed the NSCDC Commandant, commended him for the commendable performance of the Corps in the state since his assumption of office on August 25, 2025. The Governor noted that he had received positive reports on the activities of the NSCDC, particularly in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, VIP protection, and the overall maintenance of law, order, peace, and security across Delta State.
In his remarks, Commandant Chinedu Igbo expressed appreciation to the Governor for the warm reception and used the opportunity to brief His Excellency on the operations and achievements of the Corps since he assumed office. He also highlighted some operational challenges facing the Command, expressing confidence that the state government would support the Corps, especially in the area of logistics, to enhance effective service delivery.
Governor Oborevwori assured the Commandant that the state government would carefully consider the issues raised with a view to providing necessary support where possible.
