Osun NSCDC Decorates 267 Newly Promoted Officers


The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, has decorated two hundred and sixty-seven (267) officers recently promoted in the 2025 promotion exercise, describing the occasion as a significant milestone in their professional careers and a recognition of their dedication to service.
The decoration ceremony, held in Osogbo on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, was attended by Service Commanders, senior officers of the Corps, as well as family members of the newly promoted personnel.
In his address, Commandant Sotiyo congratulated the officers, noting that their promotions were well deserved and earned through professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment to duty.
“Your promotion is a reflection of your hard work, loyalty, and selfless service to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the nation at large,” he stated.
The Commandant expressed deep appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his steadfast commitment to personnel welfare and career advancement, noting that the Minister’s leadership has brought about unprecedented progress and mass promotions across the Corps.
He also commended the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for his visionary leadership and sustained efforts in improving staff welfare, capacity building, and operational effectiveness nationwide.
Commandant Sotiyo reminded the newly promoted officers that higher ranks come with increased responsibilities, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and discipline, while leading by example in the discharge of their duties and ensuring the protection of lives and critical national assets in Osun State.
He encouraged officers who did not benefit from the 2025 promotion exercise not to lose hope, assuring them that diligence, loyalty, and dedication to duty would be rewarded in due course.
Service Commanders present at the ceremony also congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the management of the Corps. They emphasized teamwork, obedience to lawful authority, and continuous capacity development as essential for sustained career growth.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Ayodeji Olowe expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Federal Government, the Ministry of Interior, the Commandant General, and the Osun State Commandant for the opportunity and confidence bestowed upon them.
“We are deeply grateful for this elevation. We assure the leadership of the Corps that we will rededicate ourselves to our duties, uphold the core values of the NSCDC, and justify this promotion through enhanced service delivery, loyalty, and professionalism,” he said.
He further appreciated the families and loved ones of the officers for their sacrifices, support, and encouragement, noting that their contributions remain invaluable to their success.
