The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, alongside the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, received the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Interior.
Also present at the meeting were the Director, Joint Services, Mrs. Olaniyi B. O., as well as the four Controllers-General and heads of agencies under the Ministry of Interior, underscoring the strategic importance of the engagement.
The courtesy visit provided a platform for senior officials of both ministries to deliberate on strengthening inter-ministerial collaboration, policy alignment, and operational coordination in response to Nigeria’s evolving security landscape.
Discussions centred on enhancing synergy between defence and internal security institutions, improving intelligence sharing, and reinforcing joint operational frameworks to better protect lives, property, and critical national assets across the country.
The engagement further reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to a whole-of-government approach to national security, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which prioritises cooperation, efficiency, and effective service delivery.
The visit concluded with a shared resolve to sustain continuous dialogue and collaboration among relevant agencies, aimed at building a safer, more secure, and resilient Nigeria.
