NSCDC Nasarawa Command Arrests Three Suspects Over Kidnapping, Robbery

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State Command, has arrested three suspects in connection with cases of kidnapping, robbery and theft across different parts of the state. The arrests were made under the leadership of the State Commandant, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru, as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and strengthen public safety.
Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, the State Commandant, who spoke through the Public Relations Officer, DSC Jerry Victor, disclosed that one of the suspects, Muktar Shuaibu, a 27-year-old from Kwandere Village in Lafia Local Government Area, was arrested in connection with a kidnapping-related attack. According to the Command, Shuaibu and an accomplice identified as Ogobon, who is currently at large, allegedly attacked an elderly Fulani man in Bassa Local Government Area while attempting to steal his motorcycle. The victim was rescued by passers-by, leading to Shuaibu’s arrest. He was later handed over to Operation Whirl Stroke of the Nigerian Army for further investigation and necessary action.
In a related operation, the Command arrested Haruna Jibrin, a 43-year-old from Ungwan Liman, Lafia, on January 2, 2026, over the robbery and theft of tin ore minerals valued at over ₦3.5 million. Another suspect, Dahiru Hussaini, was also apprehended for allegedly stealing two mobile phones and other valuables belonging to his friend, Abdusamat Hussaini, of Kauran Moyi in Lafia Local Government Area. The NSCDC stated that all suspects will be charged before a competent court of law upon the conclusion of investigations. Commandant Umoru reaffirmed the Corps’ resolve to rid Nasarawa State of criminal elements and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support security operations across the state.
