The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dismissed a total of 58 officers, including 38 senior officers and 20 junior personnel, following findings of gross misconduct. The announcement was made by Commandant General Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi as part of ongoing disciplinary measures aimed at repositioning the corps and enforcing strict adherence to its code of conduct.
Among the senior officers dismissed is an Assistant Commandant General, while other affected personnel held ranks across the NSCDC hierarchy. Reported offenses included gross misconduct, insubordination, and actions unbecoming of senior officers.
The 20 junior officers were dismissed for job racketeering, extortion, and involvement in illegal petroleum dealings, reflecting the corps’ commitment to rooting out corruption at all levels.
In addition to dismissals, other personnel received demotions and official warnings based on recommendations from the NSCDC Senior and Junior Staff Disciplinary Committees.
CG Audi reiterated the corps’ zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline and violation of extant laws, emphasizing that the actions were necessary to maintain operational integrity and public confidence.
He also highlighted ongoing initiatives within the corps to improve officer welfare, promotions, and gender inclusiveness, signaling a commitment to professional development alongside strict enforcement of discipline.
