The Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’S SIS) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 20 suspects for terrorism, kidnapping, vandalism, fraud, and other related offences across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasarawa, Benue, Plateau, and Ondo States.
Acting on the directive of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the squad conducted a series of coordinated operations between October and November 2025, leading to the dismantling of several criminal syndicates. Items recovered from the suspects include two AK-47 rifles, two G3 rifles, 105 rounds of live ammunition, a Toyota Corolla car, four motorcycles, various mobile phones, electronics, charms, and cash.
According to the squad commander, AS Dandaura, two of the suspects were confirmed to be members of terrorist and militia groups linked to recent communal attacks in parts of Benue and Plateau States. Five other suspects were identified as major buyers of stolen items, while others were involved in vandalism of critical infrastructure, armed robbery, and fraud.
Among those arrested were two men, Ibrahim Hudu (30) and Hassan Ibrahim (23), who confessed to multiple cases of kidnapping and murder in Nasarawa State. They reportedly kidnapped and killed two victims — Mr. Obasanjo H. Aku and Mr. Muhammadu Yaka — even after collecting ransom. Investigations further revealed Hassan Ibrahim’s involvement in militia attacks in Guma (Benue State) and Qua’an-Pan (Plateau State).
The NSCDC also recorded a breakthrough in Ondo State, where 27-year-old Iseoluwa Shadrach Omosehin was arrested with two G3 rifles. In Nasarawa, other suspects were caught vandalising electrical installations and defrauding residents by diverting electricity payments.
Commandant Dandaura said the operation also targeted the financial networks of criminal groups, leading to the arrest of five buyers and receivers of stolen vehicles, phones, and other items.
He reaffirmed the NSCDC Commandant General’s commitment to combating insecurity and protecting national assets, warning that there will be no hiding place for criminals. He assured that all suspects will be charged to court after investigations and urged Nigerians to continue providing credible intelligence to support the Corps’ operations nationwide.
