NSCDC Kano Command Arrests Two Suspects For Motorcycle Theft And Illegal Drug Deal

The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has continued its determined efforts to combat crime and protect the lives and property of law-abiding citizens under the leadership of Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama.

Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Command apprehended two suspects one for alleged motorcycle theft at Sabuwar Jiddah, Yan Kusa, and another for involvement in illegal drug dealings at Sabon Titin Dorayi, both in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

The suspected motorcycle thief, identified as Usman Abdulhamid, aged 19, a resident of Yandanko, Panshekara, Kumbotso Local Government Area, was arrested shortly after allegedly stealing a motorcycle from an unsuspecting victim in the Sabuwar Jiddah area. Upon interrogation, he confessed to belonging to a syndicate specializing in motorcycle theft and snatching across Kano metropolis.

During the operation, NSCDC personnel recovered four motorcycles from the suspect — three Jincheng and one Lifan Kumata models. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend his two accomplices who remain at large.

Similarly, the second suspect, Salisu Abdullahi, aged 28, of Semegu, Kumbotso Local Government Area, was arrested at Sabon Titin Dorayi in possession of various quantities of psychotropic substances suspected to be sold for illicit consumption.

Exhibits recovered from him include assorted hard drugs and related materials. The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation, after which they will be charged to court accordingly.
