The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command, under the capable leadership of Commandant E.A. Ajayi, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to discipline, professionalism, and operational excellence.
At approximately 08:00 hours, the State Commandant arrived at the NSCDC Sokoto State Command Headquarters Parade Ground, where he was received with high honours. He proceeded to inspect the Quarter Guard, an age-long military tradition symbolizing respect, discipline, and readiness among officers and men of the Corps.
Following the inspection, Commandant Ajayi addressed officers and men assembled for the routine Monday muster parade. The session began with prayers led by the Command’s Imam and Chaplain, seeking divine guidance and protection for the Corps and its personnel.
In his address, the Commandant charged officers and men to uphold the highest standards of neatness, punctuality, and diligence. He issued a stern warning to personnel who habitually neglect or abandon their duty posts, stressing that indiscipline in any form would not be tolerated under his leadership.
“I will not take it lightly with any personnel who fail to perform their lawful duties. Absenteeism and negligence are serious offences, and those found wanting will be held accountable,” he cautioned.
Commandant Ajayi further encouraged all personnel to embrace the Corps’ core values of integrity, vigilance, and service excellence, reminding them of their vital role in safeguarding lives, protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, and maintaining peace and stability within the state.
He also emphasized the importance of the NSCDC’s participation in implementing the 2024 Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection Policy and Strategy Implementation (NPPSI), urging officers to cascade the knowledge gained for a comprehensive understanding across all levels.
The Commandant reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to personnel welfare, continuous training, and capacity development aimed at enhancing service delivery. He further enjoined officers to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and uphold the ideals of the NSCDC in all operations.
