In a grand affirmation of confidence, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, has extolled the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as a force redefining the architecture of internal security and community protection in Nigeria.
Receiving the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, at his palace in Ile-Ife during the NSCDC’s operational tour of Osun State, the revered monarch commended the Corps’ rapid evolution into a trusted institution of discipline, professionalism, and purpose.
Describing the NSCDC as “a rising powerhouse in Nigeria’s security ecosystem,” the Ooni lauded its growing impact in safeguarding lives, mediating communal disputes, and protecting critical national infrastructure.
“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has become a beacon of hope across our communities — a Corps that listens, responds, and protects with dedication and integrity,” the monarch declared.
Oba Ogunwusi, known globally as a peace advocate and cultural envoy of the Yoruba people, emphasized that the Corps has proven its relevance in strengthening national unity and building public confidence through intelligence-driven operations and community partnerships.
Responding, Professor Audi expressed profound appreciation for the royal recognition, assuring that the NSCDC remains unwavering in its constitutional duty to defend the nation’s internal security with courage, loyalty, and patriotism.
He noted that synergy with traditional institutions such as the Ooni’s palace plays a crucial role in intelligence gathering and community-based security operations, as monarchs remain the closest link between the government and the grassroots.
“The NSCDC draws great strength from traditional rulers. Your Majesty’s guidance and support are invaluable to our collective mission of ensuring peace, protecting lives, and securing critical assets across Nigeria,” Audi said.
The Commandant General further assured that the Corps would continue to enhance its operational efficiency, improve personnel capacity, and deepen community engagement to sustain peace and security throughout the region.
The visit formed part of Professor Audi’s ongoing national operational tour aimed at consolidating the Corps’ strategic presence across states, reinforcing its role as a force of trust, transformation, and national stability.
