The National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), led by its National President, Mr. Sunday Adeola Simon, paid a courtesy visit to the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, at the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit was organized to formally confer the title of Grand Patron on the Controller General in recognition of his exceptional leadership, dedication to public service, and commitment to promoting safety in the country. It also served as a platform for the Association to reaffirm its support for the Federal Fire Service and its mission to strengthen fire safety awareness across tertiary institutions in Kogi State and beyond.
During the visit, the NAKOSS delegation presented a commemorative plaque to the Controller General, acknowledging his contributions to nation-building and his exemplary record of public stewardship.
In his remarks, CGF Adeyemi expressed deep appreciation to the Association for the honour and recognition. He commended the students for their initiative, sense of purpose, and commitment to community development. The Controller General urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of Kogi State and to serve as champions of fire safety in their respective institutions.
He emphasized that fire safety education should become part of every student’s daily awareness, noting that understanding basic prevention and emergency response measures can significantly reduce the risk of fire incidents and protect lives and property.
The Controller General further assured NAKOSS of the Federal Fire Service’s readiness to partner with student groups in promoting fire prevention campaigns, establishing safety clubs, and organizing capacity-building programmes across campuses nationwide.
