SEMA SEEKS KOGI NSCDC DEEP COLLABORATION SAYS COOPERATION WITH NSCDC IS KEY TO ITS SUCCESS

The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been commended for its performance efficiency by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) with a promise to further deepen its synergy and cooperation with the Corps.

Speaking recently during a familirisation visit to the NSCDC headquarters in Lokoja, the SEMA Chief Executive Officer, Mallam Muktar Atimah said the NSCDC has been of optimal performance in the state, and this explains why it is pertinent for both the NSCDC and NEMA to further deepen the already existing synergy between the two agencies because of the fact that SEMA and NEMA have synonymous function of managing disaster both natural and artificial within the State and Federal.

He avowed that the Corps performance in the State is highly commendable as  they have never failed in their responsibilities and most be appreciated.

In his response, the Kogi NSCDC boss, Commandant Paul Igwebuike assured SEMA delegation of more robust synergy, commitment and collaboration from the Corps as disaster management is also part of NSCDC’s core  mandate which explains the deployment of its personnel to the SEMA warehouses within the State to provide security and avert vandalization of the warehouses by unscrupulous persons in the State.
