NSCDC stands firm in its pledge to improve campus security at Thomas Adewumi University

The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, has assured Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko, of full security support and cooperation to strengthen the university’s security architecture.

He gave this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Founder of the institution, Dr. Johnson Adewunmi, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Onaadepo Oladipo, on Monday, July 15th, 2024.

Commandant Umar noted that the NSCDC, as the lead agency in the federal government’s ‘Safe School Project,’ is committed to collaborating with all stakeholders, including other security agencies, to ensure the protection of staff, students, and educational facilities nationwide.

He reassured the Vice Chancellor of the Corps’ commitment to enhancing security surveillance within the institution to deter criminal activities, emphasizing that the Command will provide all necessary support to maintain top-tier security standards not only within the university premises but also its immediate surroundings.

In her response, The Vice Chancellor Prof. Fransisca Onaadepo Oladipo warmly thanked the Commandant for his visit and conveyed the institution’s eagerness to forge a collaborative relationship with the Corps.
