Army Pledges Stronger Collaboration as 3 Brigade Hosts NSCDC and Customs Commandants in Kano

The Commander, 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmed Tukur, has reaffirmed the Army’s strong commitment to inter-agency cooperation aimed at maintaining peace and security across Kano State.

Brigadier General Tukur gave the assurance on Friday, October 17, 2025, when he hosted the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Mr. Bala Bawa Bodinga, and the Commandant of the Nigerian Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku, during courtesy visits to the Brigade Headquarters in Kano.

The Commander stressed that effective synergy among security agencies remains vital for intelligence sharing, coordination, and rapid response to emerging threats. “It is my pleasure to receive the Commandant of the NSCDC and his team today. I am impressed that you have immediately established contact with security agencies in the state, thereby strengthening the existing bond of cooperation,” he said.

He further assured that the Nigerian Army would sustain its high operational readiness to ensure Kano remains peaceful and conducive for residents and businesses to thrive. Brigadier General Tukur also pledged continued support to both the NSCDC and the Nigerian Customs Training College whenever required.

In his remarks, the NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Bala Bawa Bodinga, thanked the Brigade for the warm reception and pledged continued partnership in addressing security challenges. “We sincerely appreciate the support and hospitality. We look forward to working more closely with the Nigerian Army to enhance peace and security across the state,” he said.

Similarly, the Commandant of the Nigerian Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku, emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in advancing national security and institutional capacity. He explained that the College has aligned with the Comptroller-General’s vision of “consolidation, collaboration, and innovation” to boost operational efficiency.

The visit concluded with renewed assurances of sustained partnership among the agencies toward strengthening peace, stability, and operational effectiveness in Kano State.
