The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, Commandant Jibrin Idris, joined other security chiefs in receiving Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, during her two-day official visit to the state.
The First Lady was warmly received in an atmosphere that reflected the command’s dedication to interagency cooperation and its unwavering commitment to security excellence.
During the visit, Senator Oluremi Tinubu declared open the 1st Gombe Health Summit at the International Conference Centre, emphasizing the significance of improved healthcare delivery in the state. She also commissioned the newly established Federal Medical Centre in Kumo, Akko Local Government Area, and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Mother and Child Hospital in Mallam Inna, Gombe. These projects underscore the federal government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country.
In addition, the First Lady inspected and commissioned the new site of the State School of Nursing, Gombe, reiterating the need for enhanced quality education in the health sector.
The NSCDC deployed its personnel strategically to ensure smooth and secure operations throughout the First Lady’s engagements. Working in close collaboration with other security agencies, the Corps maintained a peaceful and orderly environment for all dignitaries and participants.
Commandant Jibrin Idris commended the personnel for their professionalism and dedication, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to maintaining peace and security in Gombe State.
