GOC 3 Division Urges Troops to Uphold Professionalism and Pursue Continuous Development

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), Major General EF Oyinlola, has charged soldiers of the Division to remain dedicated to professionalism and continuous self-development in the discharge of their duties.

He gave the charge during the graduation ceremony of Exercise Shining Star Course VIII, held at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos. Represented by the Chief of Staff, Brigadier General AU Gumel, the GOC congratulated participants on successfully completing the training program, urging them to continue building a culture of discipline, learning, and professional growth.

“This training is by no means exhaustive. You must seize every opportunity to develop yourselves, both personally and professionally, within your respective units,” Major General Oyinlola stated.

Brigadier General Gumel praised the students for their discipline throughout the program, encouraging them to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills while also expanding their capacity through wide reading and regular practice.

In his remarks, the Division Training Officer, Brigadier General NA Awobi, expressed appreciation to the GOC for his support, which contributed to the success of the course. He disclosed that 101 students drawn from various formations and units under the Division’s Area of Responsibility took part in the program.

According to him, the participants demonstrated determination and discipline, achieving an above-average performance across subjects such as drone piloting, live firing, map reading, and battle simulation.

The event featured the presentation of certificates, the conferment of GOC Awards of Merit to outstanding students, and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
