The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has decorated three newly appointed Deputy Commandants General (DCGs) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), charging them to lead with integrity, discipline, and renewed commitment to national security.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister said the promotions were based on merit, seniority, and fairness, noting that the elevation represents a higher responsibility to serve Nigerians selflessly.
“You are not just wearing new ranks; you are carrying new responsibilities,” Dr. Tunji-Ojo said. “Lead by example, mentor those coming behind you, and let your leadership reflect loyalty, compassion, and courage. Nigerians must feel the impact of your service through safety, protection of lives, and defence of critical national assets.”
He assured the officers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering support for their welfare, continuous reforms, and efforts to end stagnation in the services, stressing that the success of the Corps is directly tied to safer communities across the nation.
In his goodwill message, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, congratulated the new DCGs and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through renewed dedication to the Corps’ mandate. “This elevation is not for you alone; it is for the millions of Nigerians who rely on the Corps for safety and hope,” he said.
Those decorated as Deputy Commandants General are DCG Abdulkadir Sulu, DCG Abiakam-Omanu Christiana, and DCG Bridget Taylor.
