The Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), Major General Adewale Collins Adetoba, has paid courtesy visits to the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Logistics Command of the Nigerian Air Force and the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy. The visits, held on Wednesday, 24 September 2025, were aimed at deepening collaboration between the college and the sister services.
Speaking at the Headquarters Logistics Command Conference Room in Ikeja, Lagos, and later at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Apapa, Major General Adetoba expressed gratitude to Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Ademuwagun and Rear Admiral Mike Gregory Oamen for their warm reception. He described the Air Force and Navy as critical stakeholders in NACOLM’s mandate, stressing the importance of strengthening existing ties.
The Commandant highlighted the evolution of the college, recalling that since its establishment in 2002, it initially ran only the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) and Logistics Management Course (LMC). These were designed to expose officers, including non-logisticians, to logistics operations. However, following the expansion of its mandate in 2020, the institution was renamed NACOLM and broadened its curriculum to include leadership, management, and staff duties. This led to the introduction of the Junior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course (JLSOC) and the Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course (SLSOC).
Major General Adetoba commended both commands for consistently supporting the growth of the college, particularly through the release of resource persons to lecture students, provision of facilities during study tours, and continued contributions to joint training. He assured the sister services that NACOLM would always remain a dependable partner in advancing military professionalism.
In their responses, AVM Ademuwagun underscored the critical role of logistics in modern warfare, emphasizing the need for expertise-driven and proactive approaches in joint operations. He pledged the full support and collaboration of the Logistics Command to the college. Similarly, Rear Admiral Oamen reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment, particularly in offering NACOLM students opportunities for sea trips, facility tours, and hands-on training. He praised the synergy between both institutions, noting the positive impact of deploying naval officers as Directing Staff and Chief Instructors at NACOLM.
The visits featured the presentation of souvenirs and an inspection of the Quarter Guard by the Commandant.
