35 Artillery Brigade Commander Decorates Newly Promoted Majors

The Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Godwin Nwamba, on Friday, September 19, 2025, decorated four newly promoted senior officers of the Brigade with their new ranks of Major in the Nigerian Army.

Those elevated include Major S.D. Adebayo of 35 Artillery Brigade Garrison, Major I.S. Akari of the Brigade’s Army Public Relations, Major I.K. Ezechukwu of 351 Artillery Regiment, and Major S.A. Omonu of 35 Artillery Brigade Garrison.

Speaking at the ceremony, Brigadier General Nwamba congratulated the officers and expressed delight at the number of beneficiaries from the Brigade. He commended the Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy of the promotion and charged the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The Commander reminded them that promotion comes with higher responsibilities, urging them to reflect their new status through discipline, leadership, and improved performance. He advised the officers to mentor junior commanders, remain committed to training, and ensure their superiors are supported in achieving the unit’s objectives.

General Nwamba further encouraged them to prepare ahead for their senior career courses, stressing that their advancement in the Army would depend on continuous learning and dedication.

The decoration ceremony was attended by officers, soldiers, families, friends, and invited guests.
