In a bid to reinforce inter-agency cooperation, the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Sokoto State.
The Comptroller of NCoS, Sokoto State Command, G.T. Abubakar, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the NSCDC State Commandant, Commandant E.A. Ajayi, at the NSCDC Headquarters on September 18, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Abubakar highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two agencies, stressing the need to strengthen their synergy to effectively tackle security challenges.
“This visit is aimed at reaffirming our collaboration and reinforcing the existing ties between the Nigeria Correctional Service and the NSCDC,” Abubakar stated.
In his response, Commandant Ajayi warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the gesture. He acknowledged the importance of strong inter-agency relationships and reiterated NSCDC’s readiness to support the Correctional Service in safeguarding custodial facilities and promoting national security.
Ajayi emphasized the strategic role of the NSCDC in protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI). He assured the NCoS of the Corps’ commitment to enhanced intelligence sharing and operational support, particularly in the protection of custodial centers across Sokoto State.
“The NSCDC in Sokoto is fully committed to partnering with the Nigeria Correctional Service in ensuring the safety of correctional facilities and contributing to national peace and security,” Ajayi affirmed.
Both agencies pledged continued cooperation in addressing security challenges through improved coordination and mutual support.
