Commandant Augustine Padonu

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, has celebrated excellence in service delivery as the State Commandant, Augustine Padonu, on Friday, August 15, 2025, presented letters of commendation to five outstanding management officers in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the Corps’ growth and visibility across the state.

The ceremony took place during the monthly Commandant’s briefing at the Area “A” Command Headquarters, Iyaganku, Ibadan, where senior officers gathered to review operations and strategic initiatives.

The honorees include:

  • Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Orekelewa Olukayode
  • Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Sanda Ajibola
  • Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Alao Victoria
  • Superintendent Abdulrasheed Sakirat
  • Superintendent Awodele Bolanle

In his address, Commandant Padonu expressed deep appreciation for their dedication, professionalism, and teamwork, noting that their efforts have significantly boosted the Corps’ operational efficiency and community presence. He urged the recipients to remain role models, sustain their high standards, and continue fostering strategic partnerships that strengthen NSCDC’s mandate of safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure.

Among the awardees, ACC Orekelewa Olukayode, Area Commander of Area “H” (Kishi), has distinguished himself through innovative community engagement and collaboration with sister agencies. His leadership secured a befitting office complex for the Area Command, while also strengthening security across Olorunsogo, Oriire, Olokoto, Irepo, and Oorelope divisions. His impact was recently commended by the Iba of Kishi, Oba (Engr.) Moshood Oyekola Aweda Lawal Arowoduye II, during the Commandant’s courtesy visit.

ACC Sanda Ajibola, Area Commander of Area “B”, has become known for his pragmatic, people-centered leadership style. By working closely with stakeholders across divisions such as Akinyele, Lagelu, Ona Ara, and Inukan, he has improved the Corps’ visibility and reinforced its role as a trusted partner in local security.

ACC Alao Victoria, overseeing Area “A” Command, which covers Ibadan South West, Ibadan North, Ibadan North West, Oluyole, Irepodun, Are Latosa, and Ibadan West divisions, has demonstrated unwavering commitment to stakeholder collaboration. Her approach has deepened public trust and enhanced cooperation with the Corps, making NSCDC more responsive and accessible to citizens.

At the divisional level, Superintendent Abdulrasheed Sakirat, Divisional Officer of Ibadan West since December 2023, has transformed the division through strategic engagement with community leaders. Her initiatives led to the furnishing of the office complex and improved operational output.

Similarly, Superintendent Awodele Bolanle, Divisional Officer of Akinyele East, Onidundu, has been instrumental in changing the security dynamics of the area. Once seen as a neglected and challenging posting, Onidundu now boasts an operational NSCDC office, thanks to her proactive leadership and close collaboration with residents.

The commendations highlight the Oyo State Command’s commitment to professionalism, service excellence, and motivation of personnel. By honoring these five officers, the Command seeks to inspire others to emulate their achievements and further strengthen the Corps’ capacity to deliver on its mandate.
