
The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 3,246 personnel across the state to ensure the safety and security of residents during the upcoming Eid-il-Kabir (Sallah) celebration.
The deployment was approved by the State Commandant, Muhammed Kabiru Ingawa, in accordance with the directive of the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, who emphasized the need for a peaceful and incident-free celebration across the country.
Addressing Officers and Men by the 2ic of the Command, Deputy Commandant John Joseph Efere JP on behalf of Commandant Ingawa, he stated that the deployment covers Eid prayer grounds, mosques, recreation centers, markets, motor parks, shopping complexes, gardens, black spots, and other critical national assets and infrastructure within the state.
“Our mission is clear – to ensure a peaceful celebration for all residents of Nasarawa State. We are working in synergy with sister security agencies to maintain law and order throughout the festive period,” DCC Efere said.
He charged all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to ensure effective deployment within their jurisdictions, urging them to engage community stakeholders for credible intelligence gathering and to sustain high surveillance before, during, and after the celebration.
Special tactical squads and surveillance units have also been placed on high alert to respond swiftly to any form of security breach.
The Commandant reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property, and assured the public that the NSCDC will not relent in its efforts to combat crime and safeguard communities across the state.
While extending his warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, Commandant Ingawa wished all residents a peaceful and joyous Eid-il-Kabir celebration, urging everyone to remain law-abiding and vigilant.
