
In a proactive move to ensure the safety of lives and property during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has deployed one thousand three hundred and fifty (1,350) personnel across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
The State Commandant, Bala Bawa Bodinga, who disclosed this today in Dutse, said the deployment is part of the Corps’ strategic operational plan to provide robust security coverage before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.
According to him, personnel will be stationed at prayer grounds, markets, motor parks, recreational centres, flashpoints, and other critical infrastructure to maintain law and order, prevent crime, and respond swiftly to emergencies.
Commandant Bodinga, further stated that officers from various departments and specialized units—including the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Disaster Management Unit, Intelligence Department, and the Armed Squad—will be actively involved in the operation to enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response.
He warned miscreants and troublemakers to steer clear of any acts capable of disrupting public peace, noting that anyone caught attempting to exploit the festive period for criminal activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The Commandant called on the general public to cooperate with security agencies and to report any suspicious movements or activities through the NSCDC emergency lines available across all divisional offices.
He also extended his warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
