The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued a stern warning to the general public, especially operators of illegal scrap markets, otherwise known as pantaker, to desist from buying or selling vandalised government properties.
Ishaku Musa, Commandant of the Corps, issued the warning this morning while speaking with journalists at the Corps Command Headquarters in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Musa disclosed that intensive intelligence has indicated the involvement of some unscrupulous individuals who are profiting heavily from this criminal activity.
“Let me assure you that the NSCDC is fully committed to its mandate of protecting critical national assets. Anyone caught vandalising, buying, or selling stolen government properties will face the full wrath of the law.
“We are working round the clock on intelligence gathering, and I’m pleased to say we are making progress. Any moment from now, the public will hear from us.” said Musa.
