Federal Mines Officer Engr. Mohammed Muntari Pays Courtesy Visit to NSCDC Jigawa Command

The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) received the Federal Mines Officer, Engr. Mohammed Muntari, from the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, at the State Command Headquarters in Dutse.

The visit, described as strategic and collaborative, was aimed at strengthening inter-agency cooperation in the fight against illegal mining and the protection of mineral resources within the state.

During the meeting, Engr. Muntari commended the leadership and personnel of the NSCDC for their unwavering commitment to securing critical national assets, particularly in the mining sector.

He highlighted the Ministry’s concern over the rising activities of illegal miners and stressed the need for a united front in enforcing mining regulations.
In his response, the Jigawa State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, expressed appreciation for the visit and assured the Ministry of the Corps’ readiness to provide intelligence, patrol support, and enforcement measures to safeguard the state’s mineral assets.

He emphasized that the Command remains committed to its statutory responsibility of protecting lives, property, and national infrastructure.
Both parties agreed on the importance of joint surveillance, information sharing, and periodic stakeholder engagements to effectively tackle illegal mining and enhance regulatory compliance in the mining sector.

The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to partnership and the promotion of legal and sustainable mining activities in Jigawa State
