
Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and Depot Nigerian Army (NA) has kicked off Exercise Camp FARAUTA AND KUNGAMA, a joint exercise for the Cadets of 72 Regular Course and 88 Regular Recruits Intake of the institutions at Falgore Forest Kano State and Bagaldi Depot Nigerian Army Training Area Zaria. The exercise, which began on 12 May, 2025, will run until 22 May, 2025. The Exercise aims to test the competency, skills and comprehension of the Cadets and recruits from what they have been taught in class rooms and in the field throughout their training.
During the exercise, the Cadets and Recruits will be subjected to various conventional and asymmetric warfare scenarios, including advance and quick attack, defence, withdrawal, and deliberate attack. They will also be trained in hybrid tactics, such as occupying forward operating bases, attacking enemy camps, conducting raids, patrols, ambushes and night operation.
The exercise is designed to assess the Cadets and the Recruits’ ability to work together, think critically, and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. It will also provide an opportunity for the participants to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.
The exercise is a testament to the commitment of the Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy Major General Khalifa Ibrahim and the Commandant Depot NA Major General Ahmadu Bello Mohammed and indeed the Nigerian Army, in producing well-trained and disciplined personnel. The outcome of Exercises Camp FARAUTA and KUNGAMA will undoubtedly contribute to the overall development of competent and skilled military personnel for the Armed Forces ready to serve the nation in a joint Environment.
