FUNERAL SERVICE AND LYING-IN-STATE CEREMONY OF LATE BARR. PRINCESS IKPA NGOZI

The NSCDC Enugu State Command on Saturday 29th March 2025 gathered in solemn tribute to honor the life and service of Late Barr. Princess Ikpa Ngozi, a dedicated and amiable officer who served as the Second-in-Command (2i/c) of the Legal Department. Her recent passing is a profound loss to the Corps, as she was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.

The lying-in-state ceremony held at the NSCDC Enugu Command Headquarters, where officers and men of the Corps paid their last respects. The occasion was attended by the State Commandant, Dr. Elijah Etim Willie, alongside principal staff officers, heads of departments, area commanders, divisional officers, and other officers and men of the Command.

A solemn prayer for the repose of her soul was led by Chaplain Damian Tavershima Anyam, while heartfelt tributes were delivered by ACC Stella Ekoh (Head of the Legal Department), Barr. Oluchi Ndudikwa, and DCC Olariche Jonathan (2i/c of the Command). Each tribute reflected on her unwavering commitment, professionalism, and the warmth with which she carried out her duties.

In his address, the State Commandant, Dr. Elijah Willie Etim, consoled the bereaved family and prayed for divine strength to help them bear this irreparable loss. He extolled the virtues of Late Barr. Princess Ikpa Ngozi, emphasizing her dedication, diligence, and the indelible mark she left on the Corps.

Following the lying-in-state, a funeral service was held at the National Grammar School football field, near the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Late Barr. Princess Ikpa Ngozi will be greatly missed—not only by her family, friends, and colleagues in the Legal Department but also by the entire NSCDC community, particularly in the Enugu State Command. Her legacy of service, professionalism, and kindness will forever be remembered.
