EID – EL – FITR: LAGOS NSCDC DEPLOYS 2, 250 PERSONNEL, VOWS TO ARREST VANDALS OF OIL PIPELINES, BRIDGES, MANHOLES, TRANSFORMERS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos state command, has deployed two thousand two hundred and fifty ( 2, 250 ) personnel to ensure safety of lives and property during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.

The Eid-el-Fitr, also called, “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

It marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.

The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos state command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, while addressing officers and men of the Command, said that the special deployment of personnel also followed, the Federal Government’s declaration of Monday 31st March and Tuesday 1st April, 2025 as public holidays to mark the celebration.

The Lagos State Commandant also disclosed that officers and men deployed for this auspicious assignment were drawn from various departments, units, divisions and area commands of the service across the state.This is to ensure lives and property are safe and secured as well protect the critical national assets and infrastructure of the State before, during and after the celebration.

The Lagos State Commandant further said that the critical national assets and infrastructure situated at strategic points, recreational centres, strategic facilities include but not limited to the followings; man holes, telecommunication cables, fibres, masts, CCTV cameras, railway sleepers, health facilities, transformers, oil and gas pipelines and water pipes are amongst many others that will be focused on before, during and after the festivity, to avoid huge economic loss to sabotage and the nefarious activities of unrepentant criminal elements and vandals in the state.

The Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro felicitated the Muslim faithful and sued for peace, love and unity among citizens in the state as some of the virtues that the Holy Quran teaches all mankind to imbibe.

The Lagos State commandant also seized, the opportunity to warn all criminal elements, particularly vandals, to desist from their evil and disastrous acts of economic sabotage or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
