LAGOS NSCDC COMMITS TO SCHOOL SAFETY, ENLIGHTENS STAKEHOLDERS ON WAYS TO END ATTACKS, BULLYING, VIOLENCE, CULTISM, SEXUAL ABUSES

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, yesterday, Wednesday, 19th March, 2025, enlightened, Government functionaries, Stakeholders, Associations and other Participants present at the Annual Stakeholders’ Meeting on Academic Calendar for the year 2025/2026 session.

The Lagos State Commandant stressed, for schools to commence their registration on the national safe school website; www. nssrcc. gov. ng, https://portal.nssrcc.gov.ng/school/guest/register as to enhance safety and security of school children and staff as well as host communities et ce tera .

The Lagos State Commandant made the above enlightenment on school safety known, to both the Public and Private Stakeholders of the Education Sector in the state, through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin, during the meeting held, by the Lagos State Government, Office of Quality and Education Assurance ( OQEA ), Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

The Lavos State Command’s PRO was accompanied, to the meeting, by staff of the Safe School Response team of the Command. The team also highlighted all the proactive strategies put together by the Command to ensure that social vices mostly, found amongst school children such as; bullying, cultism, violence, drugs and sexual abuse respectively, are totally, eradicated, amongst others in the state.

The Lagos State Commandant also seized, the annual event, to extend his deepest appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Tola Ali – Balogun, for his immense support to the NSCDC in the state especially, on matters bordering on formulating robust policy framework that will will protect the rights of our young children and aid better school safety and security that everyone will be proud of in the state.

Present at the event also was the Acting Director General, of the office of Quality Education and Assurance ( OQEA ), Lagos State, Mr Remi Abdul, the representative of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, National Union of Teachers, District Co – ordinators, Directors, the representative of various Associations of schools and other relevant stakeholders et ce tera.
