Insecurity: Zamfara NSCDC rallies PGC personnel

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has stated that the conventional security agencies alone cannot tackle the security challenges.

It harped on adequate training of the personnel of Private Guards Companies, PGC.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Sani Mustapha stated this during the passing out of some personnel of the PGC trained by the Corps in Gusau, the State capital.

“As we all know, the whole nation is passing through security challenges and no part of the nation is exempted from security challenges”, he added.

Commandant Mustapha noted that the security matter was a collective responsibility of all, as the Conventional Security agencies alone cannot fight the battle.

“This is where the Private Guard Companies, PGC, are so relevant in this ongoing battle, their contributions in various forms and magnitude cannot be over emphasized, as they are close to the grassroots.

“They are so important as far as security of lives and properties in the state is concerned.

“In view of the above, the Federal Government has mandated the NSCDC to license, monitor, train and retrain to ensure their relevance, efficiency and professionalism in delivery.

“The guards went through one week rigorous training, and judging their by their testimonies, performances, attentiveness and interactions with them, I strongly believe that they can deliver,” he stated.
