TROOPS ADVISED TO GUIDE FAMILIES ON HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME BEFORE OPERATIONS

The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has urged troops preparing for operations to prioritize guidance on health insurance schemes for their families. He revealed this during a courtesy visit by the State Manager of Defence Health Management Limited (DHML), Colonel Abdullahi Gambo (retired), on 12 February 2025, in Gusau, Zamfara State.

The Theatre Commander emphasised that the health of both troops and their families is paramount and should not be a distraction during military operations. He commended Colonel Gambo’s visit for its timely nature, framing it as an essential part of ensuring that soldiers understand the available healthcare resources and support for their loved ones. He articulated the importance of being well-informed about health insurance options, noting that it contributes to enhanced focus and morale for troops on the ground.

Colonel Gambo confirmed that his visit falls within a broader sensitization campaign targeting all military formations in Zamfara State. This initiative is designed to enhance awareness of the health insurance benefits available to service members and their dependents, ultimately aiming to alleviate any potential anxieties that could interfere with operational readiness. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to present this information, reinforcing the commitment of DHML to support military families.

Additionally, Colonel Gambo praised the recent achievements of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in combatting terrorist activities in North West and Niger State. He affirmed the commitment of DHML to provide efficient and effective health services to troops and their families, further solidifying the partnership between military operations and ongoing health support initiatives.
