Man arrested with 70 pieces of Indian hemp attempted to bribe officials with N1m – NSCDC

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has said that a suspect, Kasimu Abubakar, 40, who was arrested with 70 pieces of concealed Indian hemp, attempted to bribe its personnel with N1m.

It also said that two partners in business with the suspect were at large.

Parading the suspect on Monday, at the State NSCDC headquarters in Gusau, the State capital, Commandant, Sani Mustapha, who spoke through the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASCll Umar Mohammed, said the suspect was arrested at Shinkafi town.

He stated that the suspect was arrested in Shinkafi town following information from Lagos State that a consignment was transported to the town.

”On getting the information, our personnel swung into action and apprehended the suspect.

“We discovered 70 pieces of cannabis worth N1.7 million,” he said.
