NIGERIAN ARMY SIGNALS HOLD ASSUMPTION OF COMMAND PARADE FOR MAJOR GENERAL NC UGBO

The Nigerian Army Signals (NAS) recently organized a colourful Assumption of Command Parade to mark the official assumption of command of Major General Nosakhare Cyril Ugbo as the 39th Commander Corps of Signals (CCS). The ceremony took place on February 5, 2025, at the Nigerian Army School of Signals (NASS) Parade Ground in Liverpool, Apapa, Lagos.

In his remarks, Major General Ugbo expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for entrusting him with the command of the Corps of Signals. He assured the troops that he accepts the weight of responsibility that comes with his new role. Major General Ugbo emphasized the importance of developing a dedicated and professional team, noting that NAS is a vital component of the Nigerian Army (NA). He charged officers and soldiers to take cognizance of the COAS Command Philosophy, which aims to consolidate the transformation of the NA into a well-motivated and combat-ready force.

The CCS highlighted the significance of mastering cutting-edge technology to adapt to the ever-evolving operating environment. He promised to prioritize troops’ welfare, including their living and working conditions, to ensure the Corps remains effective and efficient in discharging its assigned tasks.

Dignitaries who witnessed the occasion included the Commandant, NASS, Major General Philip Ilodibia, Managing Director PRONTO Microsystems Technologies Limited, Major General Emmanuel Oshunsan, Deputy Commandant NASS, Brigadier General Ibrahim Bindul, Chief of Staff, Headquarters NAS, Brigadier General Jacob Bawa, among others. The ceremony featured an inspection of quarter guards, a colourful parade and the CCS’s maiden address to personnel of NAS.
