Vigilante arrest suspected kidnapper in Kogi community


A suspected kidnapper identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, who has allegedly been terrorizing the Eastern Senatorial District of Kogi State has been arrested.

The suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service, KSVS.

In a statement issued by the Head of ICT/Media, Kogi State Vigilante Service, S.O. Saka on Saturday, the

suspected kidnapper was apprehended in Ikefi community, Igalamela-Odolu local government area of the state.

The Kogi State Vigilante Spokeperson, who disclosed that Abubakar was nabbed by its personnel in Igalamela Odolu Local Government, added that the suspect was found in possession of a wooden toy gun on Friday 31st January 2025.

“It has been confirmed that kidnappers have been terrorizing the community, forcing farmers off their farm land in an attempt to carry out abductions. The swift response of the vigilante operatives led to the arrest of the suspect.

“The suspect, along with the recovered exhibit, has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idah Area Command, for further investigation and necessary legal action”the statement added.

Saka reiterated the command commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all communities within the state.
