NSCDC MITIGATES AGAINST EVENTUALITIES REFRAIN SCOOPING OF FUEL AS PMS TANKER FELL ALONG KADUNA ROAD

In a proactive operational move the high command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in a swift response has deployed tactical teams to forestall fire disaster at Guaraka, Kaduna road.

Leading the Operational and Disaster response team, the representative of the NSCDC CG. Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR, relayed that the Corps is proactively alert to prevent further disaster arising as a result of Petroleum Tankers falling along road paths and urged drivers to exercise maximum caution in due course.

The DCG Operations, Philip Ayuba who led the team said the swift response is in tandem with one of the mandate of the NSCDC which centered on mitigation against disaster, rescue of victims during emergency, distribution of relief materials to displaced persons amongst others.

“As soon as we got the Intel regarding a Tanker conveying Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) which accidentally fell off the road at Guaraka along Kaduna road; we deployed our tactical Operational and disaster team to surround the area and prevent scooping of fuel by hoodlums, we also collaborated with the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officers to prevent unnecessary traffic Jam ensuring crowd control and overall security of the environment”.

“We want to affirm that the situation is currently under control as our emergency team are fully on ground, this action has helped to prevent further damages or incidents beyond control”.

The NSCDC is however reassuring the public of adequate security and safety around the terrain noting that a high level of vigilance and preparedness would continue to be maintained by the Corps to ensure the safety and security of lives and property of citizens.
