CG NSCDC ORDERS RENEWED ONSLAUGHT AGAINST  VANDALS, COMMENDS SPECIAL INTELLIGENCE SQUAD ON ARREST OF 4 SUSPECTS WITH 2 HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS LADEN WITH 94,000 LITRES OF STOLEN CRUDE

In a new year charge to all formations, Special units, crack squads and anti vandal operatives across the federation the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has declared war against all vandals and those dealing illegally in petroleum  products.

Dr Audi decried the unrepentant acts of criminal  minded persons living large on proceeds of Oil theft noting that the NSCDC as lead agency in protection  of critical national assets and infrastructure would continue to fight relentlessly, arrest and prosecute Oil thieves in the Country according  to the laws  of the federation. 

The NSCDC boss further commended the CG Special  Intelligence Squad led by Commandant Appolos Dandaura upon the arrest  made at Akunza Obi Local Government Area in Nassarawa State where an Intelligence tip-off  was received concerning 2 Trailer Tankers in conveyance of crude oil suspected to have been siphoned after vandalising the oil pipelines.

The operatives of the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad  swung into action and intercepted 2 Vehicle Trucks DAF XF Model and a MARK model white colour head and body with Registration number YEN-655 KW and KZR-733 XA laden with 47,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil each.

Preliminary Investigation  report revealed that the contents  were loaded and conveyed with a counterfeit waybills,  it was further revealed  that the Trucks were also bearing ficticious  number plates.

Information Volunteered by the truck drivers further showed that the 2 Trucks were loaded at a dump and took off from a suspected loading point in Port Harcourt, Rivers while one of the Truck was supposed find its way to Jos, Plateau State. It was also gathered that prior to the arrest one of the Trucks was waiting for further directives on where to deliver the product. 

Following  the arrest, these suspects are currently helping us with necessary investigation: 

Nafiu Aminu (M) 44 years, Sanni Mohammed (M) 27years , Abdullahi Awolu (M) 28 years, Babpa Awal (M) aged 22years.

The following exhibits were recovered from the suspects: 

A White coloured head and body 22 tyres MARK Model Truck with Reg. Num. KZR.-733 XA conveying conveying 47,000 litres  of suspected stolen crude.

We also impounded  a White colour 18 tyres DAF XF model Truck with reg. No. YEN-655 KW conveying another 47,000 litres of suspected stolen crude and the suspected counterfeit Waybills.

“However, we enjoin the public  to continue to partner with us by giving credible Information that would lead to the arrests of oil thieves across board hence, at the expiration  of a thorough investigation the suspects would be charged to Court of competent jurisdiction in order serve as deterrent to others”
