NSCDC apprehends four for vandalizing streetlight poles in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested four people for vandalizing streetlight poles in Abuja.

The FCT Commandant of the corps, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, said the arrests followed the intensified night patrols he initiated in response to intelligence reports revealing that vandals had shifted to targeting streetlight poles under the cover of darkness and heavy rain.

He said the suspects, paraded at the Command Headquarters in Baja, were caught with stolen traffic light poles, including one medium-sized and two gigantic poles.

Odumosu further said that arrests were made at different locations during late-night operations.

He reassured FCT residents and the Minister, Ezenwo Wike of the Corps’ commitment to protecting national assets, stressing that the FCT remains a no-go area for vandals and other criminal elements.

The commandant, therefore, advised perpetrators to repent or face the full force of the law.
