The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, Dr Olusola Odumosu, has received personnel of the Command who participated in Exercise HASKE BIYU 2026 at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Kaduna State.
The officers were received at the FCT Command Headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, shortly after successfully completing the multi agency security exercise.Exercise HASKE BIYU 2026 brought together participants from various security agencies, government institutions and other critical stakeholders with the objective of enhancing collaboration in addressing emerging internal security threats across the country.
The exercise was designed to strengthen inter agency cooperation, improve operational coordination and develop effective strategies for tackling contemporary security challenges while promoting safer and more resilient communities.Speaking during the reception, Dr Odumosu commended the officers for representing the Command creditably and for demonstrating professionalism throughout the exercise.
He noted that the knowledge, skills and experience gained during the programme would contribute significantly to improving the operational effectiveness of the Command and enhancing service delivery within the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Commandant stressed the importance of continuous training and capacity building, describing them as critical tools for addressing evolving security concerns and strengthening national security architecture.He also reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC to working closely with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders in safeguarding lives, property and critical national assets.
The returning officers expressed appreciation to the Command leadership for the opportunity to participate in the exercise, pledging to apply the lessons learned in the discharge of their duties.Exercise HASKE BIYU has become one of the nation’s key security training platforms, providing participants with practical experience in joint operations, crisis management, intelligence sharing and coordinated responses to complex security situations.
The successful participation of NSCDC personnel in the exercise is expected to further enhance the Corps’ contribution to national security and its collaboration with other agencies in tackling emerging threats across the country.
