NSCDC detains suspect for alleged armed robbery in Kano

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has detained a suspect for alleged armed robbery.

The Corps Public Relations Officer in the state, Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Kano.

Idris-Abdullahi said the suspect, Amir Mohammed, 24, of Ja’en Quarters, in Gwale Local Government Area, was arrested on November 7, by a team of the Corps personnel on security duty at Sharada Federal Housing Estate, Kano.

“The suspect forcefully broke into the house of one Mustafa Abubakar, stabbed him and his family severally on various parts of their bodies, leaving them in a pool of blood.

“The suspect stabbed Abubakar in 11 sensitive parts of his body, including neck and chest, in an attempt to kill and rob him of his smartphone and laptop, which he planned to use to empty the victim’s bank accounts,” he said.

According to him, the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

“Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the same compound earlier on November 1, and robbed the victim of his two sim cards.

“Effort is being made to apprehend one other accomplice, Abbas Danmama, who is still at large,” Idris-Abdullahi said.

He noted that upon completion of investigations, the case would be transferred to the Nigeria Police for further investigation and necessary legal action.
