By Tunji Braimoh, Abuja – The Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) joined Muslim faithful on Friday for special prayers in commemoration of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.Representing the State Commandant, CC Panam Musa Buba, the Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC), Abdullahi Karfi Umar, attended the prayer session held at the Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna.The event formed part of activities lined up ahead of the nation’s Independence Day celebration on October 1 and drew the participation of government officials, security agencies, religious leaders and members of the public. Prayers were offered for peace, unity, stability and the continued growth and development of Nigeria.Nigeria marks its Independence Day annually on October 1, commemorating its attainment of independence from British colonial rule in 1960.Speaking through his representative, Commandant Panam Musa Buba reiterated the Corps’ commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, strengthening national unity and safeguarding lives, critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.He assured residents of the command’s continued dedication to discharging its statutory responsibilities in support of national security and sustainable development.
