NSCDC Ogun Command Strengthens Community Security Partnership, Visits Fuji Legend K1 De UltimateAs part of efforts to deepen community engagement and strengthen strategic partnerships in support of security and public safety, the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has paid a courtesy visit to renowned Fuji music icon, Alhaji (Dr.) Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate.The visit, led by the State Commandant, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, was in line with the Corps’ non kinetic security strategy, which emphasises collaboration with influential stakeholders, community leaders, cultural figures and opinion moulders to promote peace, security awareness and responsible citizenship.Speaking during the visit at the musician’s residence in Ogun State, Commandant Ekundayo described K1 De Ultimate as a distinguished cultural ambassador, an accomplished entertainer and a source of pride to Ogun State and Nigeria. She commended his remarkable contributions to the development and international recognition of Fuji music, as well as his unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting Yoruba cultural heritage.The Commandant noted that the Fuji maestro’s influence extends far beyond entertainment, stressing that his voice continues to resonate strongly among millions of Nigerians, particularly the youth. She observed that from his formative years in the Supreme Fuji Commanders under the late Chief Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister between 1978 and 1984 to his emergence as the globally acclaimed King of Fuji Music, K1 De Ultimate has consistently used his platform to promote cultural values, social harmony and national cohesion.Commandant Ekundayo said the visit was aimed at seeking the support and partnership of the respected music legend in advancing the Command’s public enlightenment and security advocacy initiatives.According to her, music and entertainment remain powerful tools for influencing attitudes and shaping public behaviour, particularly among young people. She noted that the NSCDC, as an agency charged with the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure and the safeguarding of lives and property, requires strategic partners capable of amplifying messages against crime, drug abuse, vandalism and other social vices.”Our visit is to seek the support and partnership of our father, the King of Fuji, in our security advocacy efforts. Through his influence and reach, we believe important messages on peace, patriotism, responsible citizenship, anti drug abuse and the protection of public infrastructure can be effectively communicated to communities across the grassroots,” she stated.In his response, K1 De Ultimate expressed appreciation to the NSCDC Ogun State Command for the visit and commended the Corps for its professionalism and proactive approach to security management in the state.The Fuji icon pledged his continued support for the Corps and other security agencies in their collective efforts to maintain peace, protect lives and property and create a safe and conducive environment for residents and businesses.He also lauded the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, for his leadership and ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the Corps for greater efficiency and effectiveness. K1 assured the State Commandant of his readiness to collaborate with the Command, particularly in public sensitisation campaigns and youth focused programmes designed to discourage criminality and promote positive social values.The visit highlighted the growing importance of community based security partnerships and the role of influential cultural and entertainment personalities in supporting efforts to build a safer and more secure society.Senior officers of the NSCDC Ogun State Command and members of the K1 De Ultimate management team were present during the engagement.
