The Zamfara State Police Command has announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Asbagu Aliyu Muhammad, the Command’s DCP in charge of Operations.
DCP Muhammad, a senior officer of the Nigeria Police Force, died at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau following a brief illness.
The Zamfara Police Command, in a statement issued on Sunday, expressed deep sadness over the death of the senior officer, describing his passing as a significant loss to the Command, his colleagues and the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Command, the late DCP Muhammad served the Force with dedication, professionalism and a strong commitment to his responsibilities throughout his career.
The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, conveyed his condolences to the deceased officer’s immediate family, relatives, colleagues and other members of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Command said the remains of the late DCP Muhammad will be buried at 2:00 p.m. today, September 6, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The Commissioner prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for strength and fortitude for the deceased’s family, colleagues and loved ones to bear the loss.
